Freshman Mustang Football Take on the Hawks

The Freshman Red football season has started its season with a record of 1-2 with losses to Azle and Frisco Heritage High School. Upcoming games include Birdville High School on Sept. 21 and the rivalry game against Colleyville on Oct. 20.

To help prepare for games, players focus on both physical and mental conditioning. 

“Attack human nature,” freshman Matthew Corbett said. “You have to have a growth mindset.”

Learning from football encompasses on and off field lessons.

“Football is teaching all of us to never give up,” freshman Zachary Bergen said. “You always have to give 100 percent.”

Players to watch in their upcoming game are starting quarterback Austin Alexander and starting nose and right guard Christopher Ruiz. The team plays at Birdville tonight.
